Pain can have many causes and appropriate treatment is based upon an accurate diagnosis.
Muscles can also cause pain in areas far away from the area of injury.
Heart attacks are one example where injury to the heart muscle can cause one to feel the pain in their jaw or upper arms.
In the same manner other muscles can cause pain to appear in what appear to be unrelated regions.
When one experience pain which is unusual in its presentation one should always ask their physician if it could by Myofascial pain.
This type of pain responds very well to Trigger point injections.
